The Noctalis Incident (Iron and Fire 2) pt1
It was a busy day at the manor of Darian Noctalis. The week before had been much the same. There was a buzz among the servants and staff for the honored guest that would be arriving that day. Kalia had been woken early once again, given her weekly bathing, and put into a far nicer maid’s uniform than she was used to. A slave wasn’t usually given the nicest clothes.
The guest was a young, but very high ranking member of the Ironblood family, one of the most influential demon families in the world. Specifically, it was the daughter of the family’s patriarch, a Miss Carnivas Ironblood. She was set to be here any minute,
The car ride was quiet, the road dark at the early hour of morning. The young redheaded woman in the passenger seat looked impatient, tapping her fingers against her arm rest and staring out into the darkness just past her window. Soukasa glanced at her from behind the wheel for a moment, debated trying to make conversation, but decided against it. They already spoken plenty earlier, just following her aunt’s passing. If there was any more talk to be had, she’d start it when she was ready.
“Who is he?” the girl asked, as if reading her thoughts.
“A specialist ma’am. The kind we’ll need to keep
Bit of a warning from me to you before you start, this one gets kinda dark, so if that ain't your thing, turn back now.
None of us knew where the fliers came from. Overnight the wind swept them into the streets. But we all knew what it meant, what was coming. Some jumped for joy and counted the hours, some grimaced and counted the seconds. All of us heard things, some the same, many different, about the entity that was fast approaching.
A few days passed and up went the tents, the gates, the stands, and the forty massive, towering poles that marked the show’s arrival. The Circus had arrived, with its time trave

There Once Was a Princess
My eyes were wide open. I’d been staring at my ceiling since forever now and I still couldn’t sleep. I had tossed and turned endlessly, but it wasn’t happening. I finally gave up, turned on my side, and pushed myself to the edge of the mattress.
“Donny, I’m bored.” I whispered out into the dark shapes of my room. No answer. I extended my arm the few inches between me and the floor, tapping the carpet to try and get his attention. Still nothing. I got up and crept to my dresser, grabbing a stuffed dog. Then, with a swift heave, I tossed it into the impossible space between my bed and the floor.
A groan. My groan. My head hurts. What the hell happened last night? Did I get drunk? I don't drink. Wait, this isn't my room.
And it wasn't. The shitty hotel I woke up in was unfamiliar, foreign. And when I say shitty, I mean "this place needs to be condemned" kind of shitty. The bed was ratty, the dresser covered in dust, and the windows boarded up. One night stand? No, I didn't do those either. That and I could just feel the STDs in the air.
Tried the door; locked. Pulled the door hard as I could; wouldn't budge. Rammed the door; hurt my shoulder
Well th
I can breathe.
No.
I'm being forced to breathe.
I can't stop it, my lungs, they're moving on their own.
What happened? I remember... pain. I think... I think I was dying.
Teeth, like daggers. Claws like hooks. They entered my flesh despite my screams and pleas to the contrary. So much blood... too much blood. It spilled from the wounds, it just wouldn't stop.
Did I die? Is this what comes after death?
I can't see. I can't move...
But I'm breathing. Air is pushing it's way into my lungs, as if on it's own.
How am I alive?
Why...
"Molly, dear, can you hear me? If you can understand me, try to make a noise, any noise."
That

You know what I really like? Corners. Corners are great, especially when a psychotic battery is throwing balls made of lightning at you. All three of us heard it hit the lockers just behind where we’d been standing. Natalie was the only one brave enough to take a look back.
“Jesus.” She breathed.
“How bad is it?” Crystal asked hurriedly.
“Big dent, scorch marks. We really don’t wanna get hit by that thing.”
“This seems just a little bit unfair, don’t ya think?” I said through gritted teeth. “We have no idea what the hell

Downtown Chicago was deserted, not a sign of life to be found. The streets, devoid of life, told stories of chaos and death through littered trash, damaged or overturned cars, and an unholy abundance of corpses. A single figure walked slowly through the darkened streets, the only visible feature was a set of glowing orange eyes that showed between a slit in the grey bandage-like material that wrapped him head to toe.
The fight hadn’t been long, and his cohorts had proven efficient and effective. Chicago hadn’t stood a chance.
The click of a lighter and the dim light of its flame drew his attention. Its holder sat on the hood

Ever had a weird week? You know, like one day you’re just a normal guy, sophomore year in high school, going through day-to-day life, then the next you have super powers. What, just me? Alright, alright, dumb jokes aside, I have, and it wasn’t just me. It was me, two other people in my town, and several thousand people all over the planet. Don’t get me wrong, you won’t walk outside and see your neighbor breathing fire, but whatever this thing was, it hit, and it hit hard.
For the first few months, I didn’t really pay attention to it, a news report would pop up here and there, but nothing much. Then it happ
